Eclipse Breaks Ground in Defuniak Springs, Florida for Community South Credit Union

Community South Credit Union’s members, directors and employees were joined by local officials to celebrate the ground breaking of a new full-service branch office in DeFuniak Springs. The 3,660 square foot facility will be located at 775 US Highway 331 South, south of the Bruce Avenue intersection.

“We are truly excited to offer a new, convenient service center to the residents of DeFuniak Springs and Walton County, who are already members or would like to join our Credit Union” said Jan Page, President and CEO of the Credit Union. “This location will fulfill our vision to offer branches in the communities of DeFuniak Springs, Bonifay and Chipley.”

The proposed branch in DeFuniak Springs will be a warm, residential style facility that embodies the credit union’s values, starting with a large, welcoming front porch with rocking chairs.

Inside, the modern, but slightly rustic A-frame lobby design took inspiration from nearby Lake DeFuniak.

Member services will include four lobby teller stations, four offices for lending and new accounts, safe deposit boxes, three-full-service drive-up teller lanes, and a 24-hour ATM.

Community South Credit Union was founded in Chipley as Florida SRD District 3 Credit Union 60 years ago, with the promise of “people helping people.” That guiding principle has been apparent in everything they do. Today they have more than 10,000 members and offer membership to individuals residing or working in Gadsden, Liberty, Calhoun, Holmes, Jackson, Bay, Okaloosa, Walton, and Washington Counties. “Our service is friendly, our branches are welcoming, and our member experience is truly enjoyable. We invite you to visit us and experience good natured banking,” stated Ms. Page.

Eclipse Brand Builders was selected to provide turnkey design-build services for the project, including architecture, engineering, interior design and full-time on-site construction management. Eclipse will execute the construction of the project using local sub-contractors and local suppliers for all labor and building materials through a competitive bid process, keeping construction dollars in the community.
