Gulf Coast Federal Credit Union Breaks Ground on New Branch Office in Portland, Texas

Gulf Coast Federal Credit Union Breaks Ground in Portland, Texas Local officials today joined credit union members, employees and directors to celebrate the ground breaking of Gulf Coast Federal Credit Union’s new branch office in Portland, TX at the intersection of Highway 181 and Esplanade Drive.

“We are extremely excited to move forward with this project,” said Jeremy Garza, President and CEO of the Credit Union. “With this new office, we will be able to expand our service capabilities and offer a better experience to credit union members and employees in the Portland area.”

The striking 3,844 square foot contemporary facility, featuring a tower entrance, will showcase the credit union’s colors of red, white, and blue. The modern lobby will be diffused with natural light from the passive solar energy design and will feature photos of local scenes in Portland. Member services will include 4 lobby teller stations, 3 full-service drive-up teller lanes, lending and new account offices, and a 24-hour ATM, for added member convenience.

Founded more than 75 years ago, the Credit Union offers membership to anyone who lives, works, or worships in Nueces, San Patricio, or Jim Wells Counties. According to Mr. Garza, “At Gulf Coast Community Federal Credit Union, our vision is to better serve our members and to expand our not-for-profit, personal financial services to others within our communities.”

Eclipse Brand Builders was selected to provide turnkey design-build services for the project, including architecture, engineering, interior design and full-time on-site construction management. Eclipse will execute the construction of the project using local sub-contractors and local suppliers for all labor and building materials through a competitive bid process, keeping construction dollars in the community.
